Introduction
Thinking about camouflage tattooing to help reduce scars and stretch marks? Knowing what to expect can make the process smoother and more reassuring. This is a quick guide to walk you through what to expect.

Initial Consultation
Your journey begins with a consultation. We will look at your scars or stretch marks, discuss your goals, and decide the best approach for treatment for scar and stretch mark removal. If you aren't sure already, we'll explain the differences between ISR Inkless and INK Camouflage techniques and how both might be used to get you the best results.
Customised Treatment Plan
Based on the consultation, a personalised treatment plan will be recommended. This plan outlines the number of sessions you may need for your scar and stretch mark removal, the techniques we'll start with and any pre treatment care required to get your skin ready. We'll also make sure you understand the after care requirements.
The Procedure
On the day of your procedure, we suggest you arrive in clothing that is loose and free fitting because afterwards it will be sensitive like sunburn. We also recommend bringing a good audio book, podcast and ear buds to give you feel like you need something to do or focus on.
Please allow enough time for your treatment sessions, and these will be advised in your treatment plan.
The treatment area will be cleaned and prepared. If Inkless (ISR) is used, we will work on resurfacing the scars for a smoother texture. For Pigment (INK) Camouflage, specially blended pigments matching your skin tone will be applied to blend the scars or stretch marks with your natural skin. We'll colour match you using our NEU Conceal skin tone reader and you can check this before we get started.
Aftercare and Recovery
Taking care of your skin after the procedure is really important. We'll supply you with detailed aftercare instructions, which might include keeping the area clean, avoiding sun exposure, and applying recommended ointments. Most people find they can return to their daily activities shortly after treatment, while the skin will be red and enflamed this is to be expected. The feeling is likened to sun burn so you will want to dress in loose comfortable clothing.
Important Considerations
Certain medications and conditions can affect your eligibility for camouflage tattooing. You should not undergo treatment if you’re taking skin medications like Cortisone, Steroids, Accutane, Ro-accutane, Retin-A, or Renova. We also can’t treat spider veins, varicose veins, under-eye dark circles, birthmarks, or keloid scars. This treatment isn’t advised during pregnancy or if you have a blood disorder.
If you have high blood pressure, use blood thinners, or have diabetes or a compromised immune system, you might still be eligible for treatment. We may request a doctor’s clearance to ensure you heal well from wounds.
Results and Follow-Up
Results can vary, but most people take approx 30 days to heal between sessions. To check if you are ready for a follow up appointment we'll ask to see a progression photo of the areas to assess if you need any more healing time before booking your next session in.
Every body is different. Everyone heals differently and we can only do a next session on skin that has healed enough to progress.
Conclusion
Camouflage tattooing can be an effective scar and stretch mark removal treatment. Knowing what to expect, from the initial consultation to aftercare, can help you feel more confident about your decision. Ready to enhance your appearance and boost your confidence? Camouflage tattooing might be the perfect choice for you.
